So here we are, the second month of 2016 is almost over, and we’re anticipating growth in certain directions.

The great thing for us as video marketers, is that we have plenty to look forward to – not only in 2016, but beyond. It’s an exciting time to be growing a business!

Anticipating Growth

Here are a few trends already showing significant growth and more to come in the months ahead:

The world has gone mobile.

It’s been forecast that 50% of video views will be happening on mobile devices, and in 2015, Google announced that mobile traffic overtook desktop traffic in 10 different countries.

Video ads are in growth mode.

Video ads will take over! With YouTube, Facebook and Bing all offering advertisers video options, 2016 will become interesting with Google set to offer video clips in their search results. It’s been said that Google may be starting this too late, but just the fact that they are introducing it gives video plenty of opportunity.

Digital Assistants are here to stay.

Siri and Cortana will be more helpful than ever before! Digital Assistants like Siri and Cortana get asked all kinds of questions, and the results they provide can be more beneficial for your business, provided your business information is easily accessible to them.

Wearable technology has entered the market.

Wearable technology will set the course for the path ahead. In 2015, the Apple Watch hit the market and was a big hit. More smart watches and wearable devices are rumored to be coming out in 2016.

Virtual reality is on the cusp.

Virtual Reality will emerge in 2016. Although much around Virtual Reality (or VR) still remains a mystery, such devices could potentially offer a new medium of online advertising. Many analysts are quite excited at the possibilities of this new technology.

30-second videos are what people are watching.

30-second videos are forecast to be on the rise in 2016, making them particularly attractive to Facebook’s video player.
